Safari Overview

Come face-to-face with endangered mountain gorillas and search for wild chimpanzees during this 7-day, guided trip. Meet our representative upon landing in Entebbe and drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Track the troops of chimpanzees that live in the national park.

Tour Queen Elizabeth National Park, located at the base of the Rwenzori Mountains. This spectacular national park is full of wildlife and is known for its large elephant population. Drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi and try spotting the famous tree climbing lions in Ishasha on the way.

Come face to face with endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will be allocated one of the nine groups of mountain gorillas along with an experienced guide. Learn more about these fabulous primates that are increasingly on the verge of extinction from your guide before driving across the Uganda/Rwanda boarder to Kigali for your international flight home. Day by Day Itinerary

Our driver will be at the airport to meet and pick you up on arrival and transfer you to Cassia Lodge in Kampala for an overnight stay. If your flight arrives early afternoon you can opt to go visit the botanical garden that is well known for variety of tree species, monkeys and birds. You will also be able to see Lake Victoria from there. Overnight: Cassia Lodge Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast

After an early morning breakfast, we will depart for the most beautiful protected area in Uganda: Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy a lunch stop in Masindi before we enter the park. Note: There is Rhino tracking activity en route just before you get to the park. This tracking cost $45 per person. Overnight: Paraa Safari Lodge/Fort Murchison Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

After an early morning breakfast you will enjoy a half-day game drive on the northern bank of the Nile. Wildlife in this park includes the elephant, Rothschild giraffe, Jackson harte beast, lions, oribis, waterbucks and a variety of savannah and woodland birds. After lunch we will go on a Nile cruise for game viewing at close range. Watch how hippos take a bath, elephants come to drink and crocodiles lying lazy at the shores. We then disembark from the boat to visit the magnificent falls where you will enjoy and marvel at the mighty Nile. The famous waterfall is being forced into a seven meter crevice, to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades. This spectacular scenery can be viewed from different points up at the baker’s summit. Return to the lodge later for dinner and overnight stay. Overnight: Paraa Safari Lodge/Fort Murchison Lodge. After breakfast, we depart Murchison Falls and head towards Fort Portal. The drive is almost eight hours but will provide you with some stunning views as you pass small African villages and banana plantations. The lovely town of Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the renowned Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the many tea plantations. Overnight: Kyaninga Lodge/Kibale Forest Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Today the forest opens its doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After a hearty lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Overnight: Kyaninga Lodge/Kibale Forest Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

After breakfast depart to Queen Elizabeth National park as you enjoy the majestic view of Rwenzori Mountain full glory. Arrive at the lodge/camp for lunch. In the afternoon take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant birdlife that is sighted, and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. Overnight: The Bush Lodge/Mweya Safari Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

The day begins early when we start with a morning game drive and head to the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. We search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. After lunch, depart to Southern part of the park (Ishasha sector) arriving in time for dinner and overnight stay. Overnight: The Bush Lodge/Mweya Safari Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

After breakfast, we embark on a game drive in search of tree climbing lions as well as seeing other animals like the topi, elephants, kobs etc. After lunch head to Bwindi arriving in the evening. Overnight: Mahogany Springs or Silverback Lodge/Buhoma Lodge or Gorilla Valley Lodge or Bwindi Lodge by Volcanoes. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Another highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike, it may take two to eight hours. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorilla. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! Note: For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. After trekking, we depart for Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. This area is often called the ”the ittle switzerland of Uganda” and boasts one of the most beautiful parts of the country. We arrive late afternoon to relax after the hectic trek of the gorillas. It is safe to swim in Lake Bunyonyi, other activities include canoeing and village walks. After very early morning breakfast we depart for Ssese island arriving late afternoon for dinner and overnight. You will have lunch en route. Overnight: Ssese Island Beach Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

You will spend the whole day at the island swimming, canoeing and taking walks within the island. Overnight: Ssese Island Beach Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

After early morning breakfast, depart Ssese Island arriving in Entebbe at 11am from where you will have lunch and there after you will be dropped off to the airport for your flight back home.
